The squad will undergo a 2 year training program to prepare for the 2017 Deaflympics in Samsun, Turkey. The Geckos have automatically qualified for the 2017 Deaflympics due to having registered for the 2015 Asia Pacific Deaf Games, but unable to compete due to the low number of participating countries for the womens basketball competition.
