NZSS Day 3 Overview: MAGs, STAC and HBHS take out the titles

The Waikato turned on a belter of a day today as three teams took home Championship trophies at the 2012 NZSS.

First up on the Finals field, Mt Albert Grammar and Hamilton Girls High School produced an epic encounter that went down to a three-player drop off. After tasting defeat last year to Hamilton Girls in the Final, MAGs returned in 2012 a more composed and complete team and eventually took the match 7-6.

St Andrew's College were another team that lost a Final in 2011 and were back to make amends. They did just that, defeating St Peter's Cambridge 7-5 off the back of some inspired play by Richie Mo'unga.

To complete the set of 2011 Runners Up leaving the Waikato University fields as Champions in 2012, hometown heroes Hamilton Boys High were too clinical for a brave Palmerston North Boys High School, going out 9-5 victors.

Congratulations to all players and team management that made the 2012 NZSS so special.

Footage of all three finals will be available at Touch NZ's YouTube channel in the coming days.
