Over 50 Men's Goes Australia's Way

Australia has claimed its first Masters’ division on day four of the 2013 Super Trans Tasman Series, with the Men’s 50’s winning their second game and taking the series with one game remaining.

Nothing separated the teams in the opening exchanges, with both teams unable to score for the first six minutes of the game.

Tim Kitchingham was the first to score for Australia and by the midway mark of the first half Australia held a 2-0 lead.

New Zealand hit back shortly after before Kitchingham scored his second for the game to take a 3-1 lead.
The Kiwis then scored another touchdown through Stephen Huggins before two quick touchdowns within five minutes remaining in the half gave Australia some breathing space, taking a 5-2 lead into the half-time break.
Australia then turned it up a notch after the half-time break, scoring seven touchdowns to one to take a convincing 12-3 win and an unbeatable series lead, 2-0 with one game to play.
