Rob Woffinden Classic update...
Its with great pleasure the SMCWA can introduce another quality line-up of British Elite & Premier league riders all flying into Perth to again pay homage to the great man Rob Woffinden. Leading the charge is newly appointed 2013 SGP star & home grown local Pinjar product Tai Woffinden. Its terrific of the club to have Tai home again and when contacted he jumped at the opportunity to turn it on in Perth. One of the most exciting riders in world speedway, rides hard and will be keen to wind it up around a track he knows so well. Joining Tai is last years RWC Champion for California in the USA Ricky Wells. Tricky Ricky was another rider keen to get back to Perth and i know he's keen to grab some 'back to back' status.
England's Simon Stead, Aussie star Ty Proctor & Sweden's Ricky Kling all return to Pinjar with one thing in mind and that's having their name on the silverware. All three have been fantastic supporters of the event with all the lads riding at their 3rd consecutive 'Woofy Classic'. Big event and proven performers this trio will always put in a 'Big One' for the Pinjar punters. Danish international and first timer at Pinjar, Morten Risager is a man on a mission after missing last years event through injury and super excited in heading down under.
Pinjar's summer resident rider England's Joe Jacobs makes a welcome return to WA after having his best ever season in the British leagues. Its always great to see young international racer Cam Heeps home and back in action at Pinjar. Former Australian U16 Champion & British league rider Ryan Sedgmen books himself a spot in the meeting and looking to kick start his career again after a couple of seasons away from the sport.
A good mix of top local stars will make up the 16 man field with former Aussie international Frank Smart, the hard charging Daniel Winchester, the exciting brothers of Kale & Ethan Ballantyne, Brady 'Spider' Webb, youngster Doug Scoble & Bob King all in consideration for the clubs blue ribbon event.
Crowd favorites, the spectacular sidecars will also feature strongly with some of the states best combinations being added to the program.
