A-XXX 2012 is the setting for round 3 of the 2012 SA Supermoto race series
and is bringing several firsts to SA
* First 'true' supermoto race (bitumen AND dirt)
* First SA supermoto series winners will be crowned
* First hitout for the BRAND NEW upgraded dirt section
* First combination race meet/ ride day with the inclusion of a Rally
class.
What is the Rally class? Well here at Atujara we realize not everybody feels
the need for the ultimate adrenaline hit that is racing, and want to offer
the opportunity to sample the atmosphere of a race meet with out the
pressures of having to ride competitively. Rally class sessions are not lap
timed or scored, and the entry fee is reduced from the full race entry
amount, so if you enjoy riding supermoto, but aren't quite ready to commit
to full-on competitive racing, the rally class might be for you.
You will be let out single file from pit lane and circulate for
approximately 15min session with a maximum of 20 on the track at one time.
Rally class will be bitumen only, so it may be a good way for you to ease
into riding at TBMP, but on the other hand, the races will be timed, and
there is a certain something about 'competing with your self' and improving
laptimes over a weekend - very addictive! There will be no mass start, no
timing and no chequered flag, the session will just be red flagged and you
return back to the pits as per a normal ride day.
Decision is yours, but the ones who have made the progression from ride day
to "Racer" in the Clubman class haven't looked back and are improving with
every outing.
Your grid position will be done on qualifying time, so you will be placed on
the grid accordingly around riders similar pace to you and with 5 or 6 lap
races, very unlikely you will be lapped.
