NEWS & DRAW FOR MONDAY, 17TH DECEMBER, 2012

This Monday will be the last game of touch before the Christmas break. Touch is planned to resume Monday, 28th January 2013.
The Open Mixed touch team have returned from the State Cup feeling very tired but enthusiastic about their touch.  All players had a great carnival and played some very fast and skilful teams and have learnt a lot from this experience.  A more detailed report will be in a future issue.  Congratulations to all these players who represented Narrabri Touch.
Players are also reminded of their respect for the referees.  There is still some intimidation happening so all players are asked to be mindful of this and respect the referees decision.  It is mainly happening by players who don't referee.
A big thankyou for the referees who stepped in to help out with refereeing on Monday.  We really do appreciate you doing this for us as we had a number of injuries etc. which made it difficult but with your help it let touch go on.
Tim Baxter organized some games against Gunnedah Junior touch teams who are travelling away for the Junior State Cup next year.  Both the local girls and boys teams played really well and had a very enjoyable Sunday morning playing touch.  The heat started to increase as the morning went by but it still did not stop their enthusiasm.  A big thankyou to Brett Allison,Wayne Nott, Terrence Duncan, Lauren Nott and Joan O'Neill for assisting and refereeing these games. The girls are very keen to get together a team for the Junior State Cup so this will be an exciting new adventure for Narrabri Touch as this will be the first time a team has participated in the Junior State Cup from Narrabri.  Tim Baxter is working very hard to make this come to fruition so we will keep you informed.
A big congratulations to Dana and her team No Idea who have introduced a whole lot of new ladies to the local touch competition.  Dana has had a few who have pulled out and have enrolled a few new players on Monday night.  Good work Dana.  This team is improving with each game and could be the dark horse in the competition.
