Whitney Souness Standout at NNZ NZTD Camp
Congratulations to Whitney Souness who attended the NNZ New Zealand Talent Development camp during December last year in Cambridge. Whitney plays for her Senior A team at St Mary's College and has represented Kapi Mana Netball Centre and more recently Netball Wellington Centre at age-group nationals.
Whitney's consistent performance at the camp has led to her being named in the 27 selected trialists for this year's New Zealand Secondary Schools team. From this group a team of 12 players and 3 non-travelling reserves will be named to face Australia and other national teams in the Trans-Tasman Challenge. Trials will take place in Auckland from 5th - 7th April.
We wish Whitney all the very best success for her season ahead!

Netball New Zealand has today released the 27 players selected to trial for the 2013 New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball team.
The trials will be held in Auckland from the 5th-7th April and from there a squad of 15 (includes three non-travelling reserves) will be selected to represent New Zealand and vie to win back-to-back gold medals at the Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools Netball Tournament in Rotorua, May 2013. These players were identified at the New Zealand Talent Development camp at the start of 2012 and then observed and tracked throughout the year at various tournaments.
The New Zealand Emerging Talent Selectors and New Zealand Secondary Schools coaches then observed 59 U18 players this week at the National Development Camp held in Cambridge.
NZSS Coach Marianne Delaney was excited with the variety of talent she witnessed at camp.
“It was fantastic to see so many skilled young players come together from around the country working in a concentrated Netball environment,” Delaney said.
“We had the opportunity to put the girls through their paces both on and off the court, and from here we can track the progress of these players, not only those selected as trialists.
Selectors can opt to select a further three triallists to add to this group before April 2013
