Calling all Year 7&8 players... here's a fantastic accelerated opportunity to improve your netball skills! Gone are the days of Year 7&8 rep teams - now we're excited to throw the doors open to welcome a wide array of girls & boys to attend a Player Development Programme (PDP). This Netball NZ endorsed six-week programme is offered by all three Junior Satellites each year starting late July.

Satellites: Mother Earth futureFERNS Year 1-8 - general info

Mother Earth futureFERNS is an exciting initative launched by Netball New Zealand and set to roll out through primary and intermediate netball in the coming years. It enables players as young as Year 1 up to Year 8 to explore and learn to love netball at their own pace using equipment, court space and game formats tailored to their skill level and capabilities focusing on maximum fun and success!

Umpire Holiday Programme - general info

Netball Wellington Centre offer one-day Umpire Holiday Programme in January & April (where demand dictates) held at the ASB Sports Centre in Kilbirnie. The programme covers theory, rule discussion and practical activities along with whistle-blowing and positioning. This is a great way to build umpire confidence! We offer Holiday Skills Clinics during each of the school holiday periods though the year - January, April, July, and October (where demand dictates). Clinics timing & age groupings may vary yet include Position-Specific Clinics (April & July) focusing on Shooting, Defence & Mid-Court as well as general netball Skills Clinics focusing on performing fundamental skills consistently well.

Would you like to stay sharp in preparation for next year's trials? Thinking of trialing for school or Year 9/Under 15/Under 17 reps next year? Join our six-week programme for Year 7-11 held at the ASB Sports Centre. Starts around two weeks into Term 4. Year 7&8 Monday 4.30pm-5.30pm, Year 9-11 Tuesday 4.30pm-6.00pm. Online registrations due to open around the end of Term 3.

NWC Holiday Programmes - no longer on offer

Given the ever-expanding variety of activities on offer impacting demand and in keeping with efforts to provide quality opportunities that work in with youngster's attention spans, Netball Wellington Centre no longer offer week-long holiday programmes. We instead offer a one-day condensed netball-specific clinic for Year 5&6 from 10am to 12pm and Year 7&8 from 1pm to 3pm held at ASB Sports Centre.

If you're a parent of one of our young futureFERNS attendees and have been keen to find out where you can purchase your very own small-sized ball. Our Super Grip Ball for Year 1&2 junior netballers costs $15 each while the Silver Fern Tui training ball (size 4) for Year 3-6 costs $20 each.
