General Meeting to approve new ACTMCC Constitution

Dear Member

The ACTMCC has called a general meeting of members to vote on a special resolution to adopt the proposed Australian Capital Territory Motor Cycle Club Incorporated Constitution 2013 and by laws.

The existing club constitution was adopted in November 2002.  On review it was found the existing constitution and by laws no longer accurately reflected the operations of the ACTMCC.  As a result the ACTMCC Executive has taken the opportunity to modernise these documents and to update the delegation of authority to the Dirt Track and Motocross subcommittees.  The proposed Australian Capital Territory Motor Cycle Club Incorporated Constitution 2013 has been drafted in accordance with the model rules contained in the ACT Associations Incorporation Regulation 1991.  As a result the proposed Australian Capital Territory Motor Cycle Club Incorporated Constitution 2013 reflects contemporary terminology and business practices consistent with ACT legislation.

The ACTMCC Executive recommends the proposed Australian Capital Territory Motor Cycle Club Incorporated Constitution 2013 and by laws to its members.

The special resolution seeking to adopt the proposed Australian Capital Territory Motor Cycle Club Incorporated Constitution 2013 and by laws will be passed if at least three-quarters of those members eligible to vote, vote in favour of the resolution.

All financial members are eligible to attend the meeting and vote on the resolution.  All votes on the resolution must be given personally at the meeting or by proxy.  No member may hold more than five proxies.  Any member wishing to vote by proxy must complete the attached Appointment of Proxy form, give it to an eligible member that will attend the meeting to cast your vote and provide a copy of the form to the ACTMCC Secretary, Suzie Kirk before 7:00pm on 29 January 2013.

Should the special resolution to adopt the proposed Australian Capital Territory Motor Cycle Club Incorporated Constitution 2013 and by laws be passed, the constitution will be lodged with the ACT Registrar General.   Once approved by the ACT Registrar General the Australian Capital Territory Motor Cycle Club Incorporated Constitution 2013 will be effective.  Once this process is completed the Annual General Meeting will be called to report on the 2012 year and to elect committee members for 2013.

The general meeting will be held at 7:00pm on 30 January 2013 at the Italo Australian Club, Corner Nation Circuit and Franklin Street Forrest.
