Brett Johns, President
Brett Johns has a long involvement in basketball predominantly as a referee. Passionate in all areas of the game, he and his family have a long association with the Eastern Hills Basketball Association and his grandmother is a life member.
Beginning refereeing in 2002 at Eastern Hills, he progressed in his first year into the Basketball SA district system. On his first night in the district system he was refereeing Division 1 games in U18s and U20s. He completed his Level 1 accreditation in 2005 before attending the Australian Junior Basketball Cup in 2006 highlighted by refereeing the U18 Bronze Medal game at age 15. In 2008 he refereed the Gold Medal game at the Ivor Burge National Championships and in same year refereed his first ABA Premier League game. In 2009 he was recognised by SA Country Basketball (SACBC) as the Most Improved Referee. He went on to attend six (6) Australian National Championships across Australia over the period 2008-2013 and attended the U19 Australia Camp in 2012 at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).
Brett is a professional in the automotive industry and has been with City Holden since 2010. His comprehensive skills across business operations from Fleet Management, Consulting, Stock, Retail, Appraising, Wholesaling, New/Used Sales and Customer Service; are welcomed in his responsibilities for internal oversight as our President.
Brett has a passion for cars, sport and every area of basketball, is very approachable and always willing to discuss ways to improve our Association.
