2014 National Championships

The Under 18 Victoria Country Basketball Team has returned from the 2014 Australian Country Championship in Canberra with a silver medal after being defeated by 5 points to Victoria Metro. Swan Hill coach Sharon Denham was the Head Coach of this team at Nationals. This is a third silver medal for Coach Denham at this level - the second silver medal as a Head Coach & one silver as an assist Coach.

2013 National Championships

Sharon Denham was appointed Assistant Coach of the U18 Vic Country State Team & travelled to Brisbane to compete in the National Basketball Championships. Her team won the silver medal, going down to Queensland South by 3 points.

2012 Denham Coaches U16 Girls at Nationals again.

Sharon Denham coached the Country Victoria under 16 girls' side at the national junior championships in Tamworth this year and finished a creditable fourth.

2012 Vic Country Reps

Kelsey Rowe & Gabi Storer represented Vic Country at the first Southern Cross Challenge Ballarat. They played games against Vic Metro for the three days of the tournament. Kelsey played for Vic Goldminers whilst Gabi played for Vic Bushrangers.

Olivia Jones & Ben Maher represented Vic Country at the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup in Albury. Both played for Vic Bushrangers.

2011 Coach Awards

Sharon Denham has been awarded Basketball Vic Country ‘Cheryl Creighton Award’ 2011 Female Coach of the Year and she has also received the Patrick Hunt Female Coach of the Year Award at a Basketball Australia awards ceremony.

2011-BUSHRANGERS MAKE GRAND FINAL

Meg Storer played for U15 Vic Country Bushrangers at the Pacific Coast Slam in Port Macquarie. Meg's Team made it to the Grand Final but unfortunately went down by 1 point.

2011-SUCCESS @ PACIFIC COAST SLAM

Tom Spicer played for U15 Vic Country Golminers at the Pacific Coast Slam in Port Macquarie in January. His team were undefeated and went on to win the Grand Final against NSW Harboursiders 57 to 46. A Fantastic Effort by the boys!!

2011-U18 VIC GOLDMINERS WIN IN CLOSE ONE

Leah McDonald played for U18 Girls Vic Country Goldminers at the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup in Albury.  Her team played off in the Grand Final against Vic Country Bushrangers and won by 2 points, 51 -53.  A Great Effort!!

2011-Denham's Silver with Vic Country

SWAN Hill basketball coach Sharon Denham coached the Victorian Country under 16 girls’ state team to a silver medal last week.

The team competed at the Australian Junior Basketball Championships held at Kilsyth.

Denham herself played state basketball for Vic Country in the under 16 and 18 age groups, and now continues her passion for the game through coaching.
