SUSPENSION GUIDELINES

1. ON COURT REPORTING:

(i) The Umpires and the Umpire in Charge(s) have the sole responsibility for reporting,coaches, players and team followere(as per FIBA Rule Book).

(ii) The Umpires and the Umpire in Charge(s) are to meet the reporting requirements as set down by the SACBC TRIBUNAL PROCEDURE.

2. OFF COURT REPORTING:

(i) The Umpires, Umpire In Charge and GSABA Management can report.

(ii) Letters of complaints can be received but must be supported by the Club or Umpires can send a letter to the Hearings Officer and the Hearings Officer carries out the investigation and then sets up a Tribunal if required.

(iii) The timeframe for the Umpire, Umpire in Charge and GSABA Management to report is immediately where possible and within 24 hours if not able to do so immediately - to contact the Hearings Officer. (As required in clause 9.4 of the Tribunal Procedure)

(iv) GSABA Club Committee Members can't report directly but can report the incident to the Hearings Officer who carries out the investigation.

(v) Umpires if they do not believe it is reportable but it needs to be investigated they can contact the Hearings Officer.

(vi) In all cases the Hearings Officer needs to carry out the investigation as soon as possible and set up the Tribunal if necessary as soon as possible.

(vii) The Hearings Officer can use the option of mediation if there is a dispute and attempt to find a amicable solution.

(viii) GSABA Management must be advised as soon as possible advising an investigation is taking place. If the case is being sent to a Tribunal GSABA Management must be advised as soon as possible.
