On 9 February 2014, the Hawthorn Basketball Association held its Annual General Meeting. You may recall that most of the Committee positions were expected to be contested.

The Hawthorn Basketball Association is holding its Annual General Meeting at 1pm on Sunday 9 February 2014 at the Stevenson Centre, Xavier College. This meeting will, amongst other things, include a vote for the Executive Committee of the HBA.

As we kick off the second half of the Summer season, I would like to announce the appointment of Rodney Gebert to the position of President of the KEBC.

During 2012 Consumer Affairs Victoria introduced the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012. Thia Act came into effect on 26 November 2012.

Our AGM and Awards Presentation afternoon is coming up very soon on Sunday 10 November at the Veneto Club.

The Hawthorn Basketball Association has announced the 2013 Winter Season Most Valuable Players (MVP) winners. This season, there were 4 first MVP winners and 8 runners-up representing Kew East Basketball Club.

As a commuinity initiative the Epworth Richmond invites all interested members of the Hawthorn Basketball Association to attend an educational seminar designed to increase awareness and knowledge around sports injury prevention, strapping and basic life support and CPR.

With the end of the Winter Season fast approaching, it's time to think about next Season!

On the weekend of June 29-30, Helping Hoops will hold the annual 24 Hour Charity Shootout at Albert Park College. The event, which sees participants sign up to shoot continuous free throws (or from a closer distance for children) during a 15 minute time block of their choice, and raise money by seeking individual sponsorship from friends,family and colleagues.

On Monday, 18 March 2013 Hawthorn Basketball Association (HBA) announced the 2012/13 HBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) winners. There were 8 first MVP winners and 5 runners – up representing Kew East Basketball Club.

All players will need to be registered by Wednesday, 13 March 2013 for the Winter Season.

The Kew East Basketball Club (KEBC) will be participating in the Kew Community Festival Grand Street Parade this year.

The 2012/13 season is coming to a close in each of the divisions at the Hawthorn Basketball Association.

Please note that there are rescheduled matches for the remainder of the summer season for games previously scheduled at MLC and Xavier.
