Amateur Team Vacancies

As the pre-season starts, there are a number of clubs looking for players in various age-groups and divisions. Clubs can list vacancies on the "Team Vacancies" page (see menu). If you would like an ad placed, please send details to admin@bankstownsoccer.com.au.

Bankstown District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA) – YRL Coach required

We are currently looking for a suitably qualified Coach for our U-12’s Regional Youth League team. If you are interested in this position please e-mail your credentials to our Development Officer at coaching@bankstownsoccer.com.au or alternatively contact Petar Finka on 0427 749 877 to discuss.

New Insurance Details for 2014

There has been a change in the insurance offered by Football NSW effective for 2014. Football NSW has selected a new broker, Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) who have created a "bundled" package of insurance.

2014 By-Laws posted to website

The By-Laws governing the 2014 season have been posted to the website. They can bee found by selecting "Library -> By-Laws and Rules" from the top menu.


Ladies Pre-Season Football Tournaments

There are currently two (2) pre-season tournaments for Ladies teams. These are both being held in Bathurst on the first two (2) weekends of March.

The Proctor Park Challenge is for Ladies in the U12, U13, U15 and U17 teams.

The Mitchell Shield is for AAL teams.

Regional Squads for BDAFA - Continued

Regional Squad Trials continue. We are still looking for players - and particularly those in the 2014 Under13 and 14's age groups. Please contact the office for details.

Trials continue at Coleman Reserve on Tuesday the 17th.

BDAFA has secured inclusion in the 2014 Football NSW Regional Competition. The squads will be for age-groups U12 to U15 (players born from 1999 and 2002). Trials will be held at Coleman Reserve, Georges Hall starting on November 26th. Please see the information sheet (here) for the full details and the application form (here).

Those selected will be able to play on Saturday in their BDAFA club and also for the regional squad on the Sunday (fortnightly).

Trial Game Approvals for 2014

Please be advised that Football NSW recently reviewed the Sanctioning/Approval process in relation to ‘Inter Association Trial Matches’. For the 2014 season, please note the following:

  1. This form must be completed when a team/club wishes to play trial matches against a team/club from another Football NSW affiliated club or association other than their own.
  2. This form must be approved by both the Host Club Association and the Visiting Club Association. Once both Associations have approved the trial match the Host Club Association is to submit this document to Football NSW for our records only. Please forward forms to David Lidgard competitions@bankstownsoccer.com.au who will lodge on behalf of BDAFA clubs to FNSW
  3. All Trial Matches will be deemed as approved on receipt of this document signed by both Associations, however should there be any issues Football NSW will advise both Associations via return email. 
    There is no need for Football NSW to approve this request if both associations have approved.
  4. Trial matches must only be played on approved grounds suitable for football.
  5. Grounds must be inspected and goalpost safety checked by the host club prior to usage.
  6. Only players registered through MyFootballClub to an affiliated Football NSW Club will be covered for sporting injuries. 
  7. Football NSW Associations & their member clubs trial matches must be approved for Public Liability coverage to apply.

BDAFA 2013 AGM and Elections

On Monday, 2nd December, the Bankstown District Amateur Football Association held is Annual General Meeting and elected its office bearers for 2014. The list can be found on the "Contacts" page. 

Many thanks to the outgoing committee for their time, effort and energy in 2013. Congratulations to the new 2014 committee.

Smoking Banned at Sports Grounds

The NSW Government from early 2013 has introduced a new ban on smoking in spectator areas of sports grounds or other recreational areas while organised sporting events are being held.Please see the attached fact sheet for more information.

Fines of up to $550 apply for breaches.

BDAFA has launched it's own Facebook page to enable better communications between the Association and it's members.  Click here to engage with us


FREE - SportingPulse iPhone App

SportingPulse has released a fantastic new iPhone App to allow you to view our Fixtures/Results pages directly through your iPhone or iPad.  You can create bookmarks for your favourite teams, see upcoming fixtures including maps and previous matchups, competition ladders and more.  When you have it installed, select Football from the main menu, then enter Bankstown in the search field to bring up Bankstown District Amateur Football Association. 

This app will also allow you to view other sports who use the SportingPulse system in addition to our competitions.
