Following last week’s announcement of four Geelong Supercats junior rep boys being selected to the Country Vic Under 18 Boys team, another Geelong athlete has been honoured with state selection
Morgan Muir has been named as an emergency in the Country Vic Under 18 Girls team, announced on the BVC website on Monday. The selected team will compete at the 2013 Australian U18 Championships from the 20th to the 27th April in Brisbane.
As well as Morgan’s selection to the Under 18 state team, a total of four female and six male junior Geelong Supercats players have been named in the Under 16 BVC State Squad, released today. Approximately 114 male and 80 female athletes attended the state selection trials held in Shepparton over the weekend, with 26 males and 25 females being selected from those attending.
Makayla Armour, Chantel Horvat, Carly Saunders and Emma Wilkinson were all named to the Under 16 BVC Girls squad, while Kye Baulch, Matthew Johns, Max Kos, Harrison Hogan, Tom Pupavac and Aaron Ruiz have been named to the Under 16 BVC Boys squad.
The teams will now attend camps in Geelong (Boys) and Maryborough (Girls) during the April school holidays, after which a 15 person team will be selected to compete at the National Championships in July.
Congratulations to all athletes on the state squad selections!
