Media Release - Season 2016
RE 2016 BASLTEAMS
Over the previous 4 months SHSL has been working with BASL and Deniliquin Wanderers Soccer Club in an effort to enter teams in all four BASL divisions. SHSL wanted to be able to offer our best players with an avenue to play against the best players (i.e. Division1).
We worked on different scenarios to try to accommodate this and keep costs as low as possible. This included replacement models and integratedmodels.
After many discussions back and forth, it has become clear that a mixed Men's team with Deniliquin wasno longer an option given the lack of player commitment on both sides although both committees could see the positive outweighing thenegatives.
SHSL's goal is to have as many participants involved as possible, bearing this in mind we have opted to enter our Senior Men's team into Division 2 given that 16 players can be involved on the pitch on anymatch day. Player retention has been a problem for SHSL and we believe being competitive on match days will help increase numbers with a view to retaining players and entering Division 1 and Division 2 in2017.
Swan Hill Soccer League (SHSL) will be entering the following teams into the 2016 Bendigo Amateur SoccerLeague:
- Men's Division2
