Australian Country Women hitting their stride

Australian Country were aiming to get a good start straight from the blocks, scoring 2 goals in the space of 11 minutes, first from a penalty corner- scored by Madeline Bott, the second, field goal by Caitlin Rosser. But for the rest of the half Samoa played their hearts out keeping a respectable 2-0 score at the break.

However the Samoans tired in the second half which the Aussies took full advantage of, exploiting many gaps in the Samoan defence to drive in 9 more goals, 4 of them field goals and the other 5 from penalty corners. The nail in the coffin came from an own goal 7 minutes from time.

Still unbeaten, Australian Country are on their way to retain the Women’s OPC title.
