Representative Refereeing

Norths Representative Referee pathway is one of excellent calibre and high standard.

We encourage all our Referees to learn and develop as much as possible, to progress their refereeing and achieve their goals.

Basketball NSW has strict guidelines on which officials are eligible to referee in the Junior Representative Program. At Norths we strongly adhere to these rules to ensure our games are looked after in the best possible way.

  • Under no circumstances are referees who are under 14 permitted to officiate representative basketball games.
  • All referees officiating U18 boys and U18 girls & U16 boys’ games (any division) will be required to pass the minimum fitness test.
  • Basketball NSW will determine if the referees, are of an appropriate standard for the age group nominated.
  • All referees must be registered, have proof of affiliation with the nominating association, be active within their local domestic competition and have attended a Basketball NSW referee’s action day.

Referee Appointments for home/away games will be rostered by Norths Officials Coordinator Brendan Lloyd. In order to be considered for Norths Representative games, you will need to be a current Norths Official and must have fulfilled the above requirements. If you would like to be considered, please email Brendan Lloyd brendan.lloyd@nsba.com.au.
