Qld Summer Futsal League

Qld Summer Futsal League

The Queensland Summer Futsal League (QSFL) is a regional representitive league which enables a Queensland Futsal Player Pathway. This elite competition is organised in order to provide Players, Match and Team Officials who have been identified as being the best in their age group.

The league is represented by Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sout Brisbane, North Brisbane, Far North Coast NSW, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Wider Bay Area. This premier league boosts the cream of the futsal talent in Queenland. From here players go on to be selected for the Queensland State squad to compete at the FFA Futsal Nationals in Canberra in January.

The Queensland Summer Futsal League runs under the auspices of Football Queensland, Affiliated to the FFA and its Futsal governing body FIFA.

The QSFL runs from November to February

Age Groups are:

  • Boys: 9,10,11,12,13,14,15
  • Girls: 12, 14
  • Men: Youth, Open Mens & Over 35′s
  • Women: Opens.

Former Socceroo Craig Foster is a firm believer in the benefits of Futsal and as a supporter of Futsal in Queensland, is excited at the prospect of what this Summer League can do for the Future of Futsal in the Sunshine State.

The Queensland Summer Futsal League is an expansion of the recently held Queensland Winter Futsal League and together with the Craig Foster Challenge Cup and the Johnny Warren Cup, Futsal is the winner in Queensland

Fellow Socceroo, Francis Awaritefe also has high hopes for the League.

My involvement in Futsal since my appointment on the Advisory Panel of Brisbane Magic Futsal has made me appreciate the game. I never had the opportunity to play Futsal as a young player back in England, but I wish I did. Like the 11-a-side version, the more you can practice and play the better player you become. The same can be said of Futsal and with the introduction of the Queensland Summer League; it gives players the opportunity to play Futsal up to 3-4 times a week. Players these days have the perfect opportunity to develop their skill and become great Futsal and outdoor players by playing Futsal. Awaritefe said.
