Our Club - USCBC
USCBC was started with 46 players in July 2008 - The Year of Physical Activity.
Our club provides for all players of all standards and the focus is on maximum participation. We currently have 400 members playing from U8 to Senior Men and Women.
USCBC maintains a strong supportive culture and with high expectations of sportsmanship and behaviour from players, parents and volunteers. We also provide essential training for our volunteer coaches and education for our beginning and experienced referees.
The Representative Program is exciting and thorough and in only our 2nd year we have made a BQJBC Grand Final. We have a high degree of organisation, prompt game times and friendly administration. All members are volunteers and perform minor tasks which makes our club so successful. You are welcome to come along and visit us at our training sessions from 4pm on a Tuesday and games from 4pm on a Friday. Our great basketball club received major awards at last weekend's 2011 BQ Conference. USCBC was chosen as the winner of the 2010/2011 Small Associations award and President Jo McCormick was also awarded the BQ Club Administrator of the Year 2010/2011.The awards were presented by Larry Sengstock CEO Basketball Australia and Scott Derwin Chairman of Basketball Queensland.
Jo paid all credit to the great team effort of the volunteer committee and workers that has seen the club grow from 46 players in 2008 to over 300 this semester. Everyone at USCBC - our wonderful sponsors, volunteers, coaches, referees, players, parents and supporters should share this recognition. Well done USCBC !!
