REFEREES NEEDED FOR JUNIOR STATE CUP

We are required to nominate 17 referees for our 17 teams competing at Junior State Cup. This year, we are struggling to make the numbers so if anyone can help out please contact Denise on 04089631633 as soon as possible. You will need to be a Level 1 and be available to referee all games they allocate to you.more

ROCKHAMPTON U14 GIRLS TEAMS TRAINING (BOTH)

Until a coach is confirmed for the U14G Black team, Tracy will run both training sessions. Rock U14G Black team will train at the fields each Saturday from 12 to 1.30pm with the Rock U14G Red team training following that from 2 to 4pm. Team lists can be found in the REP TEAM tab.more

All girls turning 15 or 16 this year are advised that training for the U16G Development squad will be commencing next month. Full dates detailed in this item.......more

U16 BOYS TRAINING

All boys turning 15 or 16 this year are advised that training for the Rockhampton U16 Boys squad will be held at the fields on Sundays from 3 to 5pm. The representative team HAS NOT yet been selected but will be in the near future so if keen to learn some new skills and try out for the team, you need to start attending these trainings immediately. Several years ago, we applied for Rocky Junior Touch to become part of the Qld Gov Positive or Its Pointless program. Unfortunately, Touch is not considered one of the main five sports in this state and we were turned down. The program included a small amount of funding to use towards applying the principles of the program which simple states 'LET'S MAKE JUNIOR SPORT POSITIVE EVERYDAY'.........more

TRAINING ON THE BOTTOM FIELDS?

Teams training on the bottom fields are asked to make sure that ALL rubbish is taken with you when you leave. If we have to continue to pick up discarded bottles, rubbish etc, all fields will be closed to training. It's a simple request and those in charge should be able to spread the word to the players and parents who are attending trainings.

GET STARTED assists children (up to 18yrs) who can least afford and would otherwise benefit from joining a sport by providing vouchers up to the value of $150 to join. Rockhampton Touch Assoc is registered with the program and will accept vouchers as payment for player registration. We then redeem the amount per voucher for current player registration only - no club/uniform fees!more

ROCKY TOUCH REGISTERED WITH GET STARTED FUNDING PROGRAM

Rockhampton Touch is registered with the state government "Get Started" funding program which gives financial assistance for children from 5 to 18 who can least afford it to participate in sports. Club or team organisers who receive a voucher (sample attached) can accept it as payment of registration and pass onto the association. More...more

A reminder also that the complex is circled by a 'ONE WAY' ring road.  The ring road provides plenty of parking with direct access to fields 8, 9 and 10.

NEXT JUNIOR SEASON.

The next junior season will commence on Fridy 6th March in the following age divisions:

U10 Boys and Girls

U12 Boys and Girls

U14 Boys and Girls

Season one of junior touch will be played on Friday evenings only.

 

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT DAY

The Junior Development Day, held on 8th February, was a great success with over 200 children participating in drills and games and learning new TOUCH skills.

The Junior Development Program is a continuation of the Development Day and is designed to help improve the Touch skills of ALL interested children in the following divisions - Under 10 Boys and Girls / Under 12 Boys and Girls / Under 14 Boys and Girls / Under 16 Boys and Girls.   Children do not have to be registered with this association to participate.

There are NO costs involved
