Samoa Cricket Shines at Centre of Excellence

 Three of Samoa’s top cricketing talents have shone at the 2011 East Asia Pacific High Performance Camp held last week at Australia’s premier cricketing establishment the Brisbane Centre of Excellence.

Upcoming Internationals

 

The next twelve months looks bright for SICA with the National Mens Team coming a close third in the Pepsi ICC EAP Cricket Trophy Division 1 PNG. The winner PNG went through to the qualifying round for the 2012 T/20 World Cup in Sri Lanka. 

The National Men's Team gained entry into the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division 8 in 2012.  With our leading Facilities and dedicated staff, SICA has submitted a hosting bid for this prestige tournament.

The National Womens Team will travel to Vanuatu in 2012 to battle out the Pepsi ICC EAP Womens Trophy.  The Womens team were favoured to win this tournament in 2010 but unfortunately could not perform to their optimum in Japan.  With this tournament closer to home we look forward to asserting ourselves as the leading womens team in the region.

The National Under 17s boys team will travel to Fiji in 2012 to compete against the best junior development teams from the region.  We are excited to give our young talents the international experience they require to take their cricket to the next level.

National Samoan Cricket Team departs for PNG

The greatest challenge awaits the national Samoan cricket team as they prepare for the East Asia Pacific tournament to be held in Papua New Guinea from the 4th July – 10th July 2011. There, they will take on the strongest cricketing countries in the region playing against Fiji, Vanuatu, Japan and favourites PNG, for a place in the T20 World Cup Qualifier to be played in Sri Lanka early next year.
