Under 14's 100 points for season

Saturday the 19 July 2008 witnessed the surpassing of 100 points for this season by Malanda u14 player, Ben Clark who now has total points of 104.

This achievement came about last Saturday with Ben bagging 4 tries to add 16 points to his total of 88 points passing the ton. Ben is the first Eacham player this season to score more than 100 points and has 26 tries to his name.

According to the math, Ben is worth an average of 9.45 points a game. His nearest rivals are Dean Soley of Herberton on 77 points - 10 tries, 18 goals, 1 field goal and Jerry Sagigi of Malanda on 74 who has 18 tries, 1 goal to his name.

In the goal kicking department, Sean Kelly of Malanda and Leon Smith of Ravenshoe are the highest goal points leaders with 26 goals respectfully.

No wonder Malanda U14’s have scored 400 points this season with Clark, Sagigi and Kelly in the team. 400 points - wow that has to be an Eacham record.more

ARL FAO Course Cairns 19-21 October

Dear All,

Re: Australian Rugby League Level 1 First Aid Officers Course - 19th - 20th - 21st October 2007

The season is fast approaching and there is more time for our volunteers to do educational courses in the off season. With allot of our volunteers doing the very popular LEAGUESAFE (just short of 400 in the area) course and keen to do their level 1 FAO course, this will be a great opportunity to do this course in the area (depending on where the applicants are from) on Friday evening, 19th form 6.00 pm, all day Saturday 20th starting at 8.30am and all day starting at 8.30am, Sunday 21st October 2007. Attached is an application form which needs to be filled out and posted back to PO Box 334, CAIRNS Q 4870, accompanied with a payment of $120.00 by no later than Friday 5th October 2007.

All LEAGUESAFE volunteers will get RPL for this course.

Please talk to all your volunteers regarding this course before season end and on your presentation because everyone will shut down from rugby league in the off season, which you can not blame them for the many hours they have volunteered to the game for the season?
