Para Hills Knights play hosts to Campbelltown City on Monday night as both teams look to bounce back from a disappointing opening round of the South Australian Playstation4 National Premier League.

A deflected goal was enough for Para Hills to go down 1-0 to a 10 man Adelaide Comets side, while Campbelltown played out a nil all draw in a fiery contest against West Adelaide.

Head Coach of Para Hills Simon Catanzaro said that his side will come out with more intensity in response to last week’s defeat.

“We were unlucky last week, but we also didn’t deserve to win the game,” he said.

“We are at our home ground so we definitely want to up the intensity and really take it too them from kick off.

“Campbelltown are a very strong squad, but we have prepared for them well this week. We might tweak a few things here and there to ruffle their feathers.”

The two sides met twice last season in the National Premier League with the final scores very much chalk and cheese.

Campbelltown took the first contest with ease in a 5-1 thumping, but Para Hills managed to turn it around to take the replay 2-0.

The vastly different score lines from last season has Catanzaro expecting a fairly unpredictable game to be on the cards.

“The first time we played them we had a quite a few injuries and a few young boys who were still learning what it’s about to be a first team player” he said.

“This time around I have got no excuses.

“We are playing at home and they are a good team, but we fancy our chances and that is the expectation we need to have as a club.”

Campbelltown Striker Michael Matricciani acknowledged that Para Hills are a well-disciplined side under Catanzaro, but still expects City to come out with confidence.

“Para Hills are always a tricky team to play against,” he said.

“They are very well organised under Simon Catanzaro so we are expecting a very tough game, but we are very confident in the way we are playing at the moment.

“Last year was very inconsistent for us, but this year in the preseason games and the game last week we have made sure we’re very compact and solid defensively, if we can continue that we are confident of three points.”

Matricciani believes that if his side can remain disciplined and solid at the back, the three points will be theirs for the taking.

“As long as we stay very disciplined and compact at the back, with a couple of our plays going forward we should be fine.”
