R3 Wrap: White City v Adelaide Blue Eagles

Adelaide Blues Eagles continued their goal scoring dominance of the PlayStation4 National Premier League with a well orchestrated victory over White City at Frank Mitchell Park to keep them cemented at the top of the league table.

Under lights in sultry conditions White City took to the field looking to grab full points against top of the ladder leader Blue Eagles, after two come from behind draws in as many weeks.

After a slight arm wrestle early, White City hit the score board in the 15th minute through their goal sneak Nikola Mileusnic who pounced on a defensive error to slot home the opening goal.

Blue Eagles' coach Gianluca Lagati demonstrated his disapproval with his defence on the side lines, his animations sparking the blues into action.

Adam Harris began to take control on his defensive line setting up numerous attacking moves which had the Blue Eagles pressing for an equaliser.

Kebede with Crettenden began to get the better of their opponents Bugeja and Yamagucchi in the middle of the park setting opportunities for Kym Harris and the lightening fast Boyokino.

White City defended gamely through Wilson and Deng who put in another disciplined performance. But a quick break by the Blue Eagles through Adam Harris in the 25th minute caught the white City defence napping and brother Kym Harris made them pay with a cracking shot that hit the back of the net for the equaliser.

The Marden based side continued to dominate the game with winners all over the park. Atsikabasis and Annicchiarico built a solid wall in defence that had White City struggling to pierce.

Filleti on a wing began to win plenty of the ball himself, and as the pressure began to build, White City crumbled in defence. Enter that man Kym Harris with blistering pace and control in the 31st minute who blasted his second goal for the half to give the visitors the upper hand at the break.

Blue Eagles held the momentum for the majority of the second half as Adam Harris continued to dominate the game. Boyokino along with Kym Harris dominated proceedings up front and Crittenden continued to control the middle with Kebede.

It was Boyokino who had the "Fat Lady" clearing her vocal chords with a brilliant strike in the 65th minute and he had her singing loudly in the 80th minute when he scored his second for the half to put the game beyond White City.

After the game assistant Blue Eagles coach Paul Sortini praised the efforts of Kym Harris' performance up front and his brother Adam in defence.

"They are two boys who have been given an opportunity and taken it with both hands" he said.

"You can't question their efforts, you always know what you are going to get when they step over the white line" Paul added.

Peter Deng in the White City defence stood tall again impressing with his efforts. Paul Wilson who came in for Milos Tosic was also worthy of a mention.
