NPL2 Round 16 Preview

As well as being Round 16 of the NPL2 competition this weekend, in Wagga Wagga the Wagga City Wanderers will host the Mark Mulhearn Memorial Round.

Held in memory of the father of Jonathon Mulhearn, an U/16 Academy player, the round looks to celebrate the life of Mark and raise valuable funds to support Jonathon and his sister who also lost their mother in recent years.

The Wanderers will be taking on Weston Molonglo in a clash which has big implications in the race for top four, and the hosts will don a commemorative strip incorporating elements celebrating Mark’s life and career. The playing shirt, to be worn by both the Men’s and Women’s first grade teams over the weekend, features train tracks in memory of Mark’s career as a locomotive driver and other elements embracing his love of music and surfing.

The club will have collection tins out at the ground to raise money, as well as hosting a Crossbar Challenge at half-time of NPL2 first grade and 20’s on Saturday to collect funds for the family.
