Federation Cup Grand Final Preview
The Women’s Federation Cup Final takes place tomorrow afternoon as Canberra Croatia FC host West Canberra Wanderers FC in the blockbuster decider at Deakin Stadium.
Both sides are coming off a loss in the league last weekend and will be looking to bounce back with a potential piece of silverware.
Having lost the inaugural Women’s Charity Shield earlier in the year, Canberra Croatia will be looking to avenge that heartbreak with the next available piece of silverware.
Despite losing a regular season game for the first time in two years, Canberra Croatia come into this blockbuster clash in fine form, having scored 32 goals in the first eight games of NPLW, and seven goals in two rounds of Fed Cup action.
Although they lost to Canberra Olympic on the weekend, West Canberra Wanderers are also in solid form having drawn with competition heavyweights Belconnen United and beaten Gungahlin United in recent weeks.
The Wanderers will have their work cut out for them however as they will be without star signing Tiana Jaber when they face off against Canberra Croatia.
League form only counts for so much, however. This is cup football, and it is anyone’s game to win.
