H4H coaches visiting schools

Starting from Monday last week 26th May, there were 2 primary schools visited including Taken Bairiki Pr. School and Rurubao. These schools were lucky as basketball court was located closely to these schools were kids and teachers could easily walk from school to court. On the first day of coaching, these new coaches were assisted alot by NBDO trying to run coaching by locating different areas or spot to start off. On the first week, according to the set up or preparation, NBDO and H4H coordinator are welcoming all students and teachers and also introducing new coaches who has been appointed after the 3 days H4H workshop conducted last in late March and followed by the H4H basketball coaching. The style of coaching, kids were coach separated closely the same with the drill we did in Fiji this year. After 10min practising kids were rotated and continue to the next skill eg: shooting, passing, dribbling and footwork (pivoting). Kids and coaches were having fun and quickly they learned basketball skills and health message. Every session we spent 1 hr each day in two schools. When the session completed, NBDO was running a short demonstration of 3X3 games were H4H coaches are the tool to introduce rules of the game. While we run school coaching visit we also distribute the 3X3 flyer to register their team for the upcoming 3x3 tournament, 27th June, 2015. This will be for U18 men, women, U16, 14, 12 and together with Senior men and women. We were completing visiting 8 primary schools last week with fine weather, execiting and having fun with these kids. As of this week H4H again will drive to another school and hope we will conducting the same excitment and productive coaching to these kids.
