On Saturday 16th April, the Kiribati Basketball Federation was officially conducted the first day playoff which is known as the quarter finals. Prior to the main event the KBF board advertising throughout Tarawa informing all teams to attend as it is essential as in honor of the sponsor presentation to display champ trophies and the same time performing the handing over to the federation which is can make a difference to all teams who are aiming to get the trophy. The Vice President of KBF Mr Teekia Rui was officially gives remarks of welcoming and congrates the teams who are ready to compete in the quarter finals, afterwards he gave time to the sponsor to give some words and declare that the TTBC 16 first day playoff was officially opened.

According to the game schedule that day, there are 8 games runs for 2 age categories such as for junior boys division 3, division 2 boys, senior men and women. The first go was junior boys division 3 BTC 3 defeated Bairiki Sons 3, Bik Dreams 3 defeated Young Saints 3, division 2 boys between Young TUBA defeating NCD team and Moroni Young Warriors as well division 2 boys defeating BTC 2 team one point lead 47, 46 which makes the MYW strongly qualify to the semi finals. The games between women Saint ladies and TUBA ladies qualifying Saints with the total score of 70, 45. Between men TUBA team against Bairiki Sons was TUBA leading the score until end of the game.
