Six Hoops for Health coaches conducted Hoops for Health program at Betio Community on the 16th November, 2015. They arrived half an hour before the session started at 4.30pm. Fortunately, the Ambassadors with some Community members were there at the venue welcoming the coaches. The Coaches did the setup before they started the session. At 4.30pm, the Ambassador gave a welcome speech to the coaches. After the speech, the Administrator then outlined what the session was all about as well as introducing the Coaches.

The coaches started coaching basic skill of basketball to the members and also included related information of Health. The coaches found that some of the members had not been involving in Basketball sport before while the other had. In this case, they were divided into two groups: One group for those who knew the skills and the other who did not. Fortunately, throughout the session, the members of the community really enjoyed the session as it was fun and well planned.

The session was based on the delivery of basic skills like: Shooting, Footwork, Dribbling, Passing. Health information which was clarified to the Community was types of junk food and healthy food, and what kind of sicknesses known as Non Communicable Diseases. Just twenty minutes before the session finished, the Coaches was introducing 3x3 basketball by nominating those who knew basketball to play. During the display, the Coach was able to capture some of the scene related to the rules of the game.

Before the coaches left, they reminded the community that the session will be continued on 19 November. But this depends on the weather. Also the Ambassador was asked for his assistance to remind and gather the community members to attend the next session.

The session finished 5.45pm just before dark.
