Casey Pre Season Basketball Tournament – Melbourne 2017
The Under 12 girls had a successful weekend winning 5 games in a row to take away the premiership trophy at the Casey Pre Season Basketball Tournament in Melbourne over the Labour Day weekend.
Tough full court defence and an improvement in our shooting percentage was a strong factor in the weekends achievements. Each game the team grew in confidence not only with themselves but with their team mates too.
Game 2 bought our only disappointment for the weekend when we lost our star guard Mackenzie Clark to a serious knee dislocation, Mac is unfortunately out for 6-8 weeks missing the Vic Country Championships starting April 1st in Bendigo.
Captain Janaya Pettie said the team enjoyed the challenge of playing Melbourne teams, teams they don’t normally get to play and it was nice to spend time at the beach with her team mates after the games.
