The Wyndhamvale Falcons will soar into season 2015 under the reign of newly appointed senior coach Troy Beamond.
Finishing second on the 2014 home and away ladder with 15 wins, Beamond replaces long time playing coach Luke Dennerley.
At age 31, Dennerley steps down from the position after five seasons at the helm, choosing to focus on his role as a player next season.
No stranger to the football field, Beamond comes to the Falcons’ nest with a wealth of experience, having coached for the past decade.
Playing many seasons with Geelong West St Peter’s Football Club, Beamond hung up the boots to step into his first coaching role as an assistant in 2005.
Becoming the Football Manager for two seasons at the club, Beamond moved to Sebastopol Football Club where he took on the role of Match Day Coach and was heavily involved in player recruitment.
Earning the role as an assistant coach for the Ballarat Football League Interleague Team in 2010/2011, Beamond turned his attention to VFL where he was appointed as the Werribee Football Club Development Academy Coach and Game Analyst.
Coaching the Portarlington Football Club for the past two seasons, Beamond is excited to join the Falcons in 2015.
“It is a great privilege to be offered, and accept, the position of Senior Coach at Wyndhamvale Football Club,” Beamond said.
“Before expressing an interest in the position I spoke to a few people around the region about the club and everything came back as positive feedback.”
Having not tasted senior premiership success in recent times, Beamond is looking forward to being involved in a club which he believes has the potential to go all the way.
“The committee and players I have met so far all appear to be outstanding, club minded people and that is appealing to be a part of.
“I look forward to working with all involved and try to build on the great work Luke and the club have done over the past few years.
“Persistence achieves greatness, and that’s what we will be doing in 2015.”
