Easter Slam Playoff Favourites

As the 2014 Easter Tournament moves towards the end of the second day the overwhelming pattern emerging is that Harbour A and Auckland Counties Manukau are the teams to beat in most grades.

Harbour A are unbeaten after four rounds in the Under 19 section. They only beat ACM 1 by 6 points in round robin play, the teams quite likely to meet again in the final although Hawkes Bay could change this if they beat Harbour on Sunday.

The Under 19/ U17 Girls Final will be an all Harbour affair between their U19 and U17 A teams.

Harbour A and Victoria Christian College look likely to progress from Pool 2 of the U17 Boys Division 1 competition. In Pool 1 ACM 1 are certain to progress, Harbour B and BA Blue will scrap for the other spot.

In Division 2 of the U17 Boys Competition CM Black have booked their place in the Final against CM Red or BA White.

The Under 15 Boys Division 1 title looks likely to be a Harbour A v ACM 1 encounter although Victoria Christian College could change that if they overcome ACM 1 in the Sunday fixture. Harbour A beat ACM 1 by 11 points in a round 1 game

The Finalists in the Under 15 Boys Division 2 competition is still any ones guess. After 3 rounds all but three of the 14 competing teams could make the final.

ACM 1 appear to be the favourites to take out the Under 15 Girls title and will probably meet Harbour A in the Final. Harbour A received a big scare in round 3 only just hanging on to beat ACM 2 43-41.
