Matthews wins Club Best & Fairest

Mercurial midfielder, Todd Matthews won Sawtell's Best & Fairest Award last Sunday.

The youngster has stepped up to the plate this season with his consistent contributions each week earning him his 1st Best & Fairest Award.

Matthews won by 11 votes from centurion goal kicker, Ben Hooke. The duo have formed a lethal combination this season and are one of the main reasons the Saints have progressed to the Seniors Grand Final.

The competition amongst the field was well-represented by Mark Couzens finishing third on 50 votes. Couzens has had a stellar year and will be one of the favourites for the League Best & Fairest next month.

In the Reserves, veteran, Stephen Jackson edged out Kyah Schwartz by one vote to claim the Reserves' Best & Fairest.

Simon Taylor continued his strong year by winning the Under 18s Best & Fairest, by the same narrow margin, with young forward, Elliott Schmidt finishing second.
