Mark Couzens claimed his second Best and Fairest Award after his joint 2007 win with Brad Giri. Couzens was only assured of the top honour in the last round, as he polled three votes in the Saints massive win against the Swans. Darren Funston was runner-up on 15 votes, with Sam Dawes third on 14 votes vindicating the form of the top two sides this year. Ben Hooke claimed his second successive goal kicking award.
Jason Sincock was again Best and Fairest in the Reserves, this time from Craig Carroll from Port Macquarie. Pat Walsh was the leading goalkicker.
The Under 18s was a closer affair with another Saint in Jack Gillingham holding off a strong finish from young Swan, Sam Turner. It was a family affair with Patrick Gillingham winning the goal kicking award as an under-age player.
Russell Matthews was acknowledged as the coach of the year, which was richly deserved after another premiership with the Saints senior side.
Steve Shelley was named volunteer of the year, and received further acknowledgement when named as one of three new life members. Shelley who intends to step down after a long reign as Swans president has been instrumental in the Swans development over the years.
Mark Kelly was another to be recognised as a life member in recognition of his 20-year association with the North Coffs Kangaroos as an diligent and committed administrator. Master of Ceremonies, Rod Macpherson was also shocked to receive such a honour but considering his involvement, it was not much surprise. Macpherson, despite being a diehard Collingwood supporter, has been a successful Interleague coach over several years and a valued member of the League Executive as a Registrar, Treasurer, and now President and Umpires Co-Ordinator.
