Over the past two weeks, talented Coffs Harbour junior players have benefited from the expertise of visiting AFL clubs.
Hawthorn and Essendon Football Clubs have spent a week each in Coffs Harbour completing Pre-season training camps.
Both clubs provided opportunities for local talented players to train with their squads.
Hawthorn incorporated players into the training session with their full squad. They also provided an open forum for local coaches to view training and update their skills and knowledge to pass onto their local teams.
Essendon coaches, Adrian Hickmott & Al Richardson allowed the best of the local talent to join a skill and football knowledge based training session with their NSW Scholarship players.
These visits follow in the footsteps of the Sydney Swans visiting the region to promote AFL football to local schoolchildren as part of the Telstra Community Camps.
WHAT'S TO COME?: We have a look at Hawthorn's visit to the area before Coffs Coast Advocate Sports Editor, Brad Greenshields delves into the chances of the two clubs in his interviews with Sam Mitchell and Matthew Knights.
