SAWTELL/TOORMINA is sitting on top of the ladder with only two weeks of the season remaining.
The Saints demolition of Camden Haven coupled with the Coffs Swans loss to Port Macquarie has seen last year's runners-up return to the top of the AFL North Coast tree for the first time since round three.
In the process of knocking the Swans off the top perch, reigning premier Port Macquarie may have done enough to ensure it will be playing finals this year.
After an even opening quarter, the Magpies kicked 20 goals to one after the first break to walk away with an eyebrow raising 113 point victory.
While the Swans line-up was below full strength, nobody expected the final margin to be as large as it ended up being.
The chief destroyer for Port was Adam Eckermann who booted a bag of 10 goals.
Camden Haven were out of the contest very quickly as a sawtell/Toormina side was hell bent on payback for the upset loss the Saints suffered at Laurieton last time the two sides met.
The Saints piled on nine unanswered goals in the opening term to end the match as a contest with tall forward Aaron Clarke causing plenty of early headaches for the Bopmbers defensive unit.
The Bombers midfield lifted in the second and third quarter to stem the bleeding but in the final quarter Sawtell/Toormina put the foot on the pedal.
Jed Ellis-Cluff, Trent Baade and Clarke took advantage of Luke Matthews' strong worl in the midfield to kick 11 unaswered goals to blow the margin out to a percentage boosting 155 points.
Realistically, Camden Haven now need to win both of their final two matches if it's to rach the finals.
The first team the ombers need to overcome is Grafton who had a confidence boosting 15-goal win over North Coffs.
The Tigers had the queue in the rack in the second half after opening up a 73 point advantage by the main break.
Lee Anderson kicked three last quarter goals to take his tally for the day to six.
