AFL North Coast Junior Round 4 Report – Sunday 4 May 2008
North Coffs V Northern Beaches at Stadium Drive
Under 7 – The Roos and Blues played an entertaining in front of an appreciative crowd. For the Roos award winners were Luca Cougal, Cody Polkinghorne, Michael Lourens, James Dixon, Aiden Joseph and Sam O’Donnell. Jesak Sykes, Neihana Milne, Isabella O’Donnell, Darcy Ryan and Ty Close also played strongly.
Under 10 – An evenly contested game with the Roos passing game proving the difference on the day. Through accurate hand passing the Roos were able to move the ball into massing good goal scoring positions. For the Roos award winners were Lachlan Clarke, Peter Guise, Grace Homan, Madeline Jeffery, Patrick O’Gorman and Natalia Robson. Kai Onley, Miles McCallum, Connor Morton also deserve special mention for great games.
Under 12 – North Coffs 8-14-62 to Northern Beaches 1-0-6
North Coffs made in four wins in a row with a comfortable win over a competitive Blues. The Roos welcomed back Kane Latham (3 goals) in a best on ground performance. Other goals kickers for the Roos were Karly Amos, Brayden Coad, James Langfield, Ieasha Milne and Issac Rowe. Josh Hughes, Patrick Wilson, James Buckley and Jarrod Buckley also played well in a great team effort.
Under 14 – North Coffs 10-6-66 to Northern Beaches 1-0-6
North Coffs registered their first win of the season with an emphatic win over an undermanned Blues side. With a lot of new players the Roos combination is just starting gel which goes well for the rest of the season. Goals kickers for the Roos were Kristy Amos, Nick Bailey, Josh Bullivant, David Harcombe, Brandon Kelly, James King, Rohan McMahon, Mitch Papley, Cody Papley, Nick Stanlan-Velt, Joseph Whalan and Cody Woods.
Bellingen/Nambucca V Coffs Swans at Burdett Park, Fernmount
Under 7 – Bellingen and Coffs Swans enjoyed an entertaining game with great skills on display. Best players for the Swans were Aden Van Ryswyk, Thomas Allom, Sam Schellenberger, Matthew Jaeger, Dempsey Sodeau, Jaben Jones, Jacob Reily-Hills, Brianna Bishop, Liam Whitaker and Alex Payne.
Under 10 –. The Swans and Bulldogs played a high standard game. The Swans used their handballing skills to great affect. Best players for the Swans were Joshua Oliver and Remy Bordignon. Awards this week to Tyrone Jones, Jaben Jones, Patrick Collins and Lochlann Moran.
Under 12 – Coffs Swans 4-10-34 to Bellingen/Nambucca 4-7-31
A closely fought match with a determined Swans outfit holding off a gallant Bellingen/Nambucca combination. The Swans were led by Tyrone Jones, Jai Lane and McKinley Pearce who kept the hardworking Bulldogs at bay in a tight last quarter Awards winners for the day were Matthew Hannigan, Remy Bordignon and Ryan Marshall.
Under 16 – Coffs Swans 13-10-88 to Sawtell 7-10-52
The Swans were too strong for an undermanned Sawtell. The Swans showed good team play and plenty of effort. Darby Pearce, Sam Turner, Ashley Munro, Rhys Jones, Alex Sutton and Bryn Jenke. The coach was happy on the day but we need more players at training Tuesday and Thursday Jetty Oval. For the Saints best players were Adam Coad, Angus Burkitt and Lucas Nicholls.

Trip to Sydney for Swans V Richmond match 1 June.
