Under 12s
Final Scores North Coffs 8-4-52 def. Sawtell Saints to 6-6-42.
In the closest game of the day with the aid of the breeze North Coffs Under 12s scored two unanswered goals to Machut Machut and Blayke Sykes to lead by 11 points at quarter time. Sawtell were playing strongly and would have been hopeful of narrowing the deficit with the aid of the wind. However in the second quarter the Roos managed to increase their lead to 17 with a two goal to one performance with excellent team play. The Saints scored two quick goals to challenge for the lead however four goals to the Roos gave them a seemingly match winning lead at three quarter time. However the never say die Saints came storming home in the last quarter and challenged strongly only to fall 10 points short at the final siren.
The premiership gave the Roos their third win in the Under 12 in four years. For North Coffs Kane Latham was best on ground with Riley Channells also playing an outstanding game. Other good players included Patrrick Wilson, Blayke Sykes (4 goals), Machut Machut, Tylar Joseph, Lachlan Kelly, Jay Close and Karly Amos. Under 14s
Final Scores Sawtell Saints 17-9-111 to North Coffs 4-1-25.
In the Under 14’s match between the Sawtell Saints and North Coffs it was the Saints who dominated throughout the game. As usual the two teams always have a great battle with players in both sides showing a lot of skill. For the Saints Ryan Buck was dynamic in the back line and across the centre and he was assisted well by Brad Smith. Cruz Hastings played well in the ruck and took some great strong marks preventing Nth Coffs moving the ball into their forward line. Best on ground Patrick Gillingham put in four good quarters attacking and defending making it difficult for the Roos to contain him. Ezra Hensen used his speed well in the midfield to be the first to most contests.
Across the half forward line Angus Burkitt was strong in his marking and played his usual hard tough game of footy, he was assisted well by Tristan Pennant who also presented well in the forward line for the Saints. Blake Bollen was impressive by not allowing his player many possessions and his disposals were effective. The Saints full forward Jacko Stanmore booted 10 out of their 17 goals and was literally unstoppable in front of goals. Whilst outclassed in the grand final the Ross have made great progress during the season. Best players were Brendan Norton, David Harcombe, Nick Bailey, Cody Papley, Mitch Papley and Rohan McMahon.
