The Nambucca Valley Lions at the League Meeting tonight, conveyed they are struggling with player and committee numbers.
President, Greg Boatfield, expressed that player numbers are at an unprecedented low at training and the committee is struggling to get off the ground. As a result, there is great concern for the viability of the club in the 2009 season.
They will not field a Reserves team, yet their Under 18s, as per previous years, are strong and are the future of the club. Unfortunately it is the lack of new recruits in recent years that has left their Seniors side threadbare and with many of the elder statesmen playing to hold the side up.
The population isnt big in the area so finding new blood currently is like finding gold. The same goes for people willing to run the club in a small capacity, whether it be treasurer, secretary etc. etc.
Financially the club is stable, it is just a numbers issue.
Anyone interested in helping out, or people who are keen to play or become a committee member are encouraged to contact Greg Boatfield on 6568 6095.
