North Coffs survived an almighty scare in coming from behind to defeat Grafton at the Coffs Coast Leisure Park.
After trailing narrowly in the first quarter, the Tigers led all the way until a late goal sealed the result for the undefeated Kangaroos, missing Darren Funston.
New recruit, Tim Davis was instrumental for the away side in his first game with the club. Playing mostly in defence, Davis provided Grafton with a lot of drive that allowed Bryce Kurtzman and Dan Zacek to have an influence through the centre.
The key forwards enjoyed strong games with Jordan O’Connor and Grahame Blackwell both kicking five goals.
Sam Bursle and Alex Delves were part of the Kangaroos’ revival, along with Brad Giri and Michael Kerr who have shown good form through the early parts of this season.
North Coffs, spurred by a parochial home crowd turned around a disappointing third-quarter to overcome an unlucky Tigers outfit that will take heart out of their performance.

A strong third-quarter helped the defending premiers overrun the Magpies in an otherwise even affair at Stuart Park.
Fielding a weaker outfit, the Saints were exposed early as the experience of Gordon Wiegold and Robert Arantz gave the home side a chance at half-time.
Scott Matthews and Jack Gillingham were strong for the Saints in the middle, reducing the supply to gun forward, Jesse Schmidt, who still managed to bag four goals. For the Saints, the goals were shared between four multiple goalkickers.
An improved showing in the last quarter was not enough to thwart the Saints whose win keeps them in touch with the second-placed Swans.

The Coffs Swans led from start to finish in their sound win over Nambucca Valley at Fitzroy Oval.
After a competitive first term full of pressure, Nambucca lost their concentration allowing the Swans to race to an unassailable lead heading into half-time.
Dave Colman and Blake Ford provided a lot of drive across half-back in the absence of Dave Box. Along with Peter Robinson who was a strong contributor in the ruck, the Swans were able to dominate possession.
Scott Morgan was a prominent target up forward despite some inaccuracy in front of goals. Fraser Duryea enjoyed his best game of the year, whilst Sam Turner was useful across half-forward, as was Tristan Snow.
Luke Benson and Monty Schmidt again tried hard for the Lions. The class divide was evident as the Swans geared up for their crucial clash with the Kangaroos next weekend.
