Sawtell aided by a strong all-round performance and an 8 goal haul from Ben Hooke defeated a valiant North Coffs outfit in a competitive contest at the Coffs Coast Leisure Park.
The Saints got the early jump with a six goal opening quarter, one where Hooke and Les Cohen dominated up forward kicking goals and winning contested and uncontested possessions. They made the 'Roos pay for their mistakes turning the ball over at crucial times, often off short kicks out of defence.
Coach, Danny McFadden and his charges, like their last clash against the Swans matched Sawtell in the second and third terms with Sam Dawes kicking a couple of vital long goals to keep his side in the contest. Graeme Connolly continued his strong early season form as he was dominant in the ruck and around the ground as North Coffs went within 19 points of Sawtell at three-quarter time.
However, it was the Saints, led by Hooke who got the early jump in the final quarter and from there they never looked back, with North Coffs only able to peg Sawtell back late in the game with a couple of consolation goals to Jamie Coad who was the 'Roos best in attack. Sawtell looked strong and showed they still have some tricks in the bag.

Best Players: Z Edwards, Sean Purton, Dale Beaver, Ryan Sheather, Tim Whalan
The Coffs Swans, led by class of wunderkind Evan Duryea, easily defeated an undermanned Grafton Tigers by 167 points at Fitzroy Oval.
An 18 goal second-half propelled the Swans to a massive score with most players getting on the scoresheet, but it was Duryea leading the way up forward with nine goals. Scott Morgan, at full-forward, turned back the clock to also make a strong contribution on the scoresheet.
Grafton were gallant without the services of the Onus brothers and Mark Blundell, which immediately put their backs against the wall against a young Swans side that is full of enthusiasm and confidence at the moment.
The Tigers' main weapon, Sean Purton was well held by the Swans defence. It allowed the Swans to build momentum and pressure that the Tigers were unable to counter in a one-sided contest.

Nambucca Valley
Goals: Ray McGrath 3; Justin Saker 2
Best Players: Daniel Linares, Dylan Creaser, Mick Townsend, Tom McGrath
Port Macquarie, as expected, registered another dominant win, this time over a competitive Nambucca side at Stuart Park.
The Magpies inefficiency in front of goal would be their only concern, as the margin could well have been greater with Port notching up 49 scoring shots to 6. Simon Foster was a strong contributor, as big forwards, John Bain and Jacob Hart continued their good form in front of goal. Matthew Newton again was influential, kicking three goals and contributing around the ground.
The Lions were again reliant on Ray McGrath, with captain, Daniel Linares among their best. But inevitably they were well and truly outclassed as Port geared up for their toughest test this so far this season when they meet the high-flying Swans in the feature match of Rivalry Round.
