Heads Up for Men's & Women's teams on Semis & Finals
Teams playing in CHBA senior competitions on Tuesday and Wednesday night are advised to consult the attached documents so that they can plan their other commitments around the scheduling of semis and finals which get under way next week (December 2 & 3).
The association has adopted its traditional semi-final format(there are a couple of exceptions) whereby the first placed team plays the fourth placed team in the division, while the teams placed second and third meet each other in the other semi-final.
Reputations and win-loss records through the regular season count for nothing come semi-final time as only the teams which win on the night will return the following week for the Grand Final.
For this reason teams are advised to round up the troops and put on their ' 'game face' next week!
Be warned however, that if your team is not up to date with its game fees your semi-final place will go to the next placed team in the classification table in your division.
CHBA's established policy is that semi-finals count as a normal game for match payments but that if yu make the Grand Final, that game is 'on the house' (NO GAME FEES PAYABLE).
The accompanying schedules attached below show that women will play their Grand Finals on Tuesday December 9th, with all games in the 6.30 pm timeslot.
Women's team will then meet at competition sponsor The Greenhouse Tavern where CHBA have arranged some complementary hospitality to start the evening and in quick time the winners and runners-up in each division will receive their Greenhouse Tavern vouchers.
Please make time in your calendar next week to be present for the presentation ceremony, because while the vouchers have a "life" and it is hoped that the winning team and the runners-up will make arrangements to return in the future to redeem their voucher, YOU NEED TO BE PRESENT on Tuesday December 9th to collect your prize. THERE WILL BE NO RAIN CHECK.
Teams playing in the Wednesday night Men's competition should carefully consult the finals schedule to organise their social calendar around two Grand Final timeslots at 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm on Wednesday 10th December.
The presentation ceremony in for all men's grades will take place shortly after the conclusion of the 7.00 pm Grand Finals at competition sponsor Greenhouse Tavern.
A friendly reminder that persons U18 will need to be in the company of an adult when at the Greenhouse Tavern.
It is an offence to serve alcohol to or to purchase alcohol for persons U18.
Both CHBA and the Greenhouse Tavern support the responsible consumption of alcohol.
We encourage all teams to rally their supporters for next week's semi-finals and for the Grand Finals on December 9th and 10th so that we can create a memorable atmosphere at Sportz Central for the conclusion of our winter 2014 senior competitions.
Once the results of this week's games are known, we will be able to put teams into the allocated semi-final places and then we will re-post the attached documents with team names in the appropriate places.
