Then there were two...

Congratulations to Hoops I Did It and Focus Magazine who have qualified for the finals of the CHBA Greenhouse Tavern A grade Women competition next Tuesday night.

Cooee and Hoop There It Is will contest the B grade Final and Inspirations and Allstars will battle it out to decide our C grade women's champion.

Tuesday December 9th
: Greenhouse Tavern Women's Grand Finals

6.30 pm Court 1 Hoops I Did it v/s Focus Magazine
6.30 pm Court 4 Cooee v/s Hoop There It Is
6.30 pm Court 5 Inspirations v/s Allstars

The A grade Women's Grand Final will feature minor premiers, Hoops I Did It, meeting second placed Focus Magazine. These two teams have faced off several times during the amended season so they will be familiar with each other's game.

Hoops certainly seem to have the measure of Focus Magazine, having lost only once in the shortened versions of the game played so far this season.

With 21 wins and only 3 losses Hoops look the stronger but with it all on the line next week, anything can happen.

As for scoring power, the recent use of Stadium Scoring in this division has allowed us to know that Eleanor Hewitt and Jane Shaw from the Hoops sit in first and third position on the individaul points table across the competition, while their opponents Focus Mag. feature Kate Harland and Jessica Bailey as second best and fourth shooter in the league.

In B grade, Cooee, minor premiers with a 6 win 2 loss regular season will meet second placed Hoop There It Is (5 wins, 3 losses).

Cooee won their place in the grand final by defeating MJ Accountants 39 to 32 last night while Hoop There It Is narrowly disposed of MBT 29 to 25 the same evening.

When these teams last met on November 18th Hoop There It Is took the "w" via a 55 to 31 hammering of Cooee so the stage could be set for close grand final next Tuesday.

In C grade women, Inspirations defeated The Tall And The Short Of It in last night's semi to book a grand final berth while Allstars were too strong for Dragonfly's

Inspirations were undefeated in the regular season and therefore should be favoured in the final game of the season.

We would like to invite all of the women's team who have played in our Winter 2014 Greenhouse Tavern competition to come along next Tuesday for the grand finals across all grades. We hope partners, friends and family will join us at Sportz Central to give the teams a good grand final crowd.

All teams are invited to join us back at the Greenhouse Tavern from approximately 7.45 pm where we will make the presentation to the winning and running up teams.

We know you already have too many trophies in your cabinet so in collaboration with the competition sponsor, we will be awarding you vouchers redeemable for food and beverages at the Greenhouse.

You'll need to be present to collect your vouchers.

As an added incentive we will be providing some complementary platters of nibblies for each of the grand final teams so please allow time in your social calender next week for our presentation at the Greenhouse.

All CHBA players who present a Greenhouse card can receive a 10% discount on food and drink any time they visit the Greenhouse - including on presentation night, so why not make next Tuesday your end of season function.

Go on you've earned it!

Good luck to all teams and Enjoy Your Game.

CHBA Senior Competitions will resume February 3rd 2015 - watch our website for more information.
