Sportz Central closure - 28th July to 2nd August 2016
Coffs Harbour Basketball Association has been approached by the Sportz Central Management this morning in regards to the condition of the floors at Sportz Central.
As some of you will know, since the East Coast low that hit the coast several months ago, Sportz Central Management have been struggling to keep the floors from being slippery and unsafe.
There have been many options tried and whilst some have worked in the short term, none of these have worked for any length of time. Due to this, and on advice from the flooring experts, management have opted to strip back and resurface the floors as a matter of urgency.
The stadium will be closed from Thursday 28th July until Tuesday 2nd of August at 9am.
Please be aware that this decision wasn’t made lightly by Sportz Central Management and the Coffs Harbour City Council. All parties involved in this decision feel that in the in interest of participant’s safety, and avoiding unnecessary injury, the resurfacing of the floors is the only option viable at present.
Due to this Coffs Harbour Basketball Association will have to postpone the following competitions and trainings:
- Future Stars – Thursday 28th July
- High school round robin Friday 29th July
- Primary school round robin Saturday 30th July
- ANY Primary schools who come into the stadium for training between Thursday and Monday
- ALL junior and senior rep trainings from Thursday am to Monday pm.
Competitions:
The 2nd week of round robins will be postponed a week, to now be run on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th August. We will run a double round for each of the competitions later in the season to make up for the loss of this round.
Future Stars:
Future stars will be extended an extra week to make up for this missed week. Please also note that there is no program on Thursday 4th August due to the ½ day public holiday in Coffs Harbour. The Future Stars will be back on court on Thursday 11th August. Make sure you are practising at home!!
