The hunt is on for future members of the Coffs Harbour Suns - the representative program of Coffs Harbour Basketball, fielding teams in the Northern Junior League and the Country Premier League.

CHBA Suns boys and girls teams in play U/12's, U/14's, U/16's and U/18's. 

The Future Stars program is about identifying those players aged 9 and 10 this year, who display the potential to participate in the Suns U/12 Reps in 2015.

To be clear, you must be born on or after January 1st 2004 to be eligible for the 2014 Future Stars Program Selection trials are taking place at Sportz Central Wednesday July 23rd and July 30th afternoon from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm.

After next week's trial the Future Stars Squad will be selected for weekly intensive training over 7 weeks to enhance their potential to be selected in 2015 representative teams.

The 2014 Future Stars program will be under the directorship of experienced and well respected CHBA rep. coach Laurie Van Loo assisted by some of our senior representative coaches.

Head Coach Van Loo will be looking to recruit other coaches from our representative program and our High School and Primary School competitions to assist with this program. We anticipate this will be a great opportunity for learning coaches to improve their knowledge by working alongside Head Coach Van Loo.

The Suns basketball program has a proud record of commencing players on the road to national representation with Kristy Wallace and Lizzy Tonks beginning their basketball playing careers in CHBA programs.

Please note this is not a 'learn to play program', participants ideally will already be playing in our Saturday morning Primary School competition and not already a member of any of our 'rep' teams.
