Bad News, Good News...

Last weekend, CHBA held a Disciplinary Tribunal (Judiciary) because of an incident which happened the previous week at Primary School basketball.

The result of the Tribunal was a one month suspension for the player involved.

Separately, a player who broke the Player's Code of Behaviour in the High School competition earlier in the year, and then was responsible for disrupting the games of others while suspended, has been banned from the stadium during CHBA competitions.

While it is bad news that we need to report these matters to our members, there is a good side to the story.

CHBA has a Code of Behaviour which applies to players, coaches, spectators and officials. The Code is on display in the stadium and has been widely distributed to teams playing in our competition.

The codes are based on strong competition, played in a friendly environment in a spirit of sportsmanship.

CHBA would like to assure all players and all parents that we support a safe environment for you or your children to play our sport and will not hesitate to take action when our accepted Codes of Behaviour are broken.

We request all team coaches/managers and all parents to take some time to discuss our Codes of Behaviour with their young players and/or children, so that they cleary understand how to particpate in our sport.

We want everyone, winners and losers to enjoy their game, so that they come back for more.

Thanks in anticpation of your help with this.

Enjoy Your Game!
