Thirteen Coffs Harbour Suns Junior teams consisting of players hopeful of making our 2015 rep. teams spent the weekend in Port Macquarie, playing in their annual social carnival.

It was a "sunny" weekend for the CHBA teams, with seven of our teams, U11 boys and girls, U13 girls, U15 boys, and U17 boys and girls (2 teams) making the finals in their division.

General Manager Steve Smith commented "While our participation was never about the winning it is very pleasing that this early in our preparations for 2015, our teams are starting to 'click'. Our rep. coaches would have enjoyed the chance to see their players under game conditions and also against unfamiliar opponents and I am sure this will assist them in finalising their team line-ups for next year."

Congratulations to the U15 men who secured victory in their final with a 36 to 26 win over Port.
Our U17 women were also victorious but the score was not available at the time of writing.

The next event on the calendar for our Suns teams is Coffs Harbour's own 3-on-3 event at Sports Central next Saturday (November 8th).

This will be a change of pace from the 5 a side version of the game.
There is no place to hide in the 3-on-3 game and coaches will be able to see all players under dribbling and shooting pressure in games which are fast and furious and only last for 10 minutes.

An announcement of 2015 CHBA junior rep teams is expected shortly.
