The Sunbury Kangaroos’ hopes of fielding an A-grade netball side in the Riddell District Football Netball League have received a setback with the coach set to lead the side pulling out.
The club failed to field a team last year and is determined to field one in 2015 to avoid being fined.
Netball director Val Engellener said they had lined up a coach who had said she was going to bring some players with her.
“I messaged her this morning and she said due to work commitments and spending time with her child she wouldn’t be taking on the role,” Engellener said last Monday.
“It’s devastating for us. We have to field a team this season otherwise our club gets fined double the amount that we did last season.
“As for the players she said were coming to the club, I’m unsure at this point what is going on there.”
