I am writing to advise all AFL Goldfields Leagues and Clubs of some upcoming changes to the Staffing structure in the AFL Goldfields Regional Administration Centre (RAC).
As many have already heard, Media, Marketing and Events Manager Shaun Kelly will be finishing up with AFL Goldfields on Friday 18th December 2015.
Shaun has been a fantastic contributor to the AFL Goldfields RAC since commencing in February 2013, and has certainly ‘raised the bar’ across all leagues in the manner in which our major events are hosted. Shaun has also driven an increased media profile for all leagues and adopted a more professional approach to our social media strategy. Importantly, Shaun has also driven growth in the sponsorship and partnership program across all leagues and AFL Goldfields during his 3 seasons in the role and we thank him for his significant contribution to AFL Goldfields, our affiliated leagues, clubs and the communities we represent.
Shaun is leaving AFL Goldfields to form his own media and promotion agency “On Deck Media”, and we wish him all the very best in this exciting initiative.
Whilst we are disappointed to see Shaun leaving us, it has given us the opportunity to re-structure the AFL Goldfields RAC.
As a result of Shaun’s resignation, I am writing to advise that AFL Goldfields have restructured the AFL Goldfields RAC and that the following appointments have been made.
1) Appointment of Commercial & Regional Operations Manager
AFL Goldfields will combine most aspects of Shaun’s former Media, Marketing & Events role with a “senior operational role” and I am pleased to advise that former long serving Ballarat FNL Operations Manager Aaron Nunn will become the AFL Goldfields Commercial and Regional Operations Manager.
A summary of the key responsibilities of this role includes:
- Manage the AFL Goldfields and RAC affiliated Leagues Sponsorship and marketing programs
- Manage all major events for AFL Goldfields and RAC affiliated Leagues
- Manage the media strategy for AFL Goldfields and RAC affiliated Leagues
- Assist all League Operations Managers to manage their league operations to a high standard
- Assist the RGM to deliver the AFL Goldfields Strategic objectives and the AFL Victoria Game Development objectives across the region
Aaron will commence in his new role on Monday 7th December 2015.
2) Appointment of Ballarat FNL Operations Manager Officer
I am delighted to advise that Scott Carey, who served as the BFNL Youth Girls Operations Manager in 2011 and as the MCDFNL Operations Manager since 2012 will be appointed to the Ballarat FNL Operations Manager position. This is a well-deserved appointment for Scott who has served the MCDFNL with a high level of professionalism and displayed great commitment to assisting his league and affiliated clubs for the past 4 years.
We are sure that Scott will continue the high standards of service provided by Aaron, and we wish him all the very best in his new role.
Scott will commence with the Ballarat FNL on Monday 7th December 2015.
3) Appointment of Maryborough Castlemaine District FNL Operations Manager Officer
I am delighted to advise that Jake Dunne, who served as the BFNL Youth Girls Operations Manager (whilst serving an Internship) in 2015 will be appointed as the new MCDFNL Operations Manager. This is also a well-deserved opportunity for Jake who displayed a high level of professionalism during his internship with AFL Goldfields.
Jake has recently completed a double degree in Sports Management and Business Management (majoring in Marketing) and a minor of Human Resource Management at Federation University, Ballarat. Jake has also had the benefit of work experience was with the North Melbourne Football Club (as a member of their Huddle Program) and also benefitted from work-experience with the St. Kilda Football Club
Jake will commence as MCDFNL Operations Manager on Monday 29th November 2015.
We trust that you will join us in thanking Shaun Kelly for his efforts and commitment to AFL Goldfields, and in particular for his efforts in promoting and servicing our leagues, including his efforts to support the Ballarat Sovereigns.
Please also join us in welcoming Jake Dunne back to “the team” and congratulating Aaron Nunn and Scott Carey on their new roles.
A summary of the new AFL Goldfields RAC Structure is provided as an attachment at the bottom of this page.
